In the sculptor's words...This
diminutive study was the first stage of “States of Development.”
It has the gesture and the movement of the larger, more defined sculpture,
but doesn’t have the three distinct stages of grabbing the idea, defining it and
creating a thing of beauty. In a way it epitomizes stage one, the
stage where I’ve grabbed the basic premise but have yet to fully define it.
