In the sculptor's words...
I’ve been thinking of doing a pizzaiolo for about 15 years but only
recently did something about it. There’s somehow an element
of magic in making that dough spin and, for me, conjures images of joy, wonder, skillful
execution and old world warmth and charm.
To capture the feeling of the spinning dough I’ve given our chef a
radical twist that adds torque to the sculpture.
As I was designing this sculpture I had visions of wide-eyed Italian
children, mesmerized by the spinning pizza and thinking “this is soooo cool!”
