In the sculptor's words... After seeing many renditions of Pegasus in Europe, I
felt the execution of a traditional wing would be both redundant and ponderous. By using
this open structure I imply strength and lightness. The lines of the wings radiate from
the body almost like rays of light. The piece has a tremendous feeling of forward movement
and flight.
