In the
sculptor's words...
"Parrot Tree" captures the feeling of a tree loaded with exotic birds.
The top four birds look off in different directions. This leaves the
composition without a front. In a social sense none of the top four birds relates to
any of the others. By adding the toucan at the bottom, that social relationship
manifests and it is this element that adds the "squawk" to the sculpture.
