Nursery Rhyme

Nursery Rhyme by Jeff Tritel

In the sculptor's words...

This spontaneous and loose rendition was sculpted to capture an essence of innocence. The rhinoceros is the thickest skinned animal I know. As an artist, I admire this quality. The rhino is sculpted as a stuffed animal, a sort of portrait of the artist as a young man. The dog is a best friend. Years ago, my bed would often stop being a bed and become a raft, a rocket or a boat. Here the boat takes on a life of its own with eyes, nose, tail and a smile. Enhancements of childhood imagination.
