In the sculptor's words... About a year ago one of our cats
had lung failure and had to have surgery. I
told my vet that I dreamed that this little guy, named Berry, was my son. He tried to be sympathetic but was unable to
suppress a laugh. Unfortunately, Berry did not
survive and the pain of losing this little member of our family was palpable. Children, natural or adopted, become inseparable
from the fabric of our lives. This goes for
the other species children that we take into our hearts. Even as they grow, they are no less our babies and
as they lady in this sculpture knows, how quickly they grow up.
This sculpture is
dedicated with love to all of my other species babies, past and present.
