In the sculptor's words... "Grace" was inspired by a waitress who liked to
lean on the counter in this manner. I've eaten in a lot of "greasy spoons"
and when I look at this sculpture I see the whole establishment in my mind. The 3 tier donut plates, malt tins, round counter
stools and turquoise and orange vinyl upholstery, torn and held together with silver duct
tape. “Grace” smokes incessantly,
can cuss like a sailor and has a big heart.
