Battle of Wills
Every marriage that ever was |

In the
sculptor's words...
This sculpture could also be named Every
marriage that ever existed. He wants his way, she wants her way. But notice that the
figures pull evenly. If one or the other pulls too hard then the figures would fall over.
The only way they can exist together is if there is a give and take. Also, note how each
braces himself against the other. If one stops pulling, they fall down. If one pulls too
hard, they fall down. This is a true symbiotic relationship. A dynamic balance of forces
that keeps the relationship in equilibrium.
